What will you learn by listening to me?

People remember stories. And I’m sharing mine. My “Burnout Story” is an inspirational story of how I went from being a stressed-out high-achieving lawyer and a semi-professional athlete – to a complete crash and 4 years of sick leave from work due to two major stress-related burnouts – to start living a wonderful life with balance, purpose, and confidence.

I have gone from burnout to balance, from Stressed to Blessed. My stressed life was shaped by what I choose to call “The 3 P:s” –– Performance – Prestige – Perfection. They have now been exchanged for a blessed life following “The 3 B:s”Balance — Beauty — Be. When we live a life in Balance we are able to see all the Beauty around us, which we could easily just miss and run by when too stressed. This also allows us to just Be — to be truly present in the present moment. Not stuck in the past or dreaming about the future, but to be right here — right now. Because life only happens in the here and now, so if we miss the now, we miss life.

My story is raw and highly personal in its nature. It’s a story of having nothing but success in life when suddenly hitting rock bottom, before a slow journey of perseverance and trusting the process could begin. A story where daring to listen to my intuition became the guiding star for creating a fulfilling life in balance. My insights will hopefully work as a wake-up call for the audience to take action and make necessary changes to avoid that they, too, will enter the burning hell of living with a burned-out brain. I hope to remove the stigma around stress-related mental illness, and to change the perception of stress being cool. Being “so busy” is not cool. However, being in balance is something to aim for, and my mission is to inspire the audience to reflect on their own life in this regard, on societal norms around The 3 P:s and The 3 B:s, and start creating a sustainable life on their own their terms.
